๐ EQUIPPING HEARTS & MINDS: D99 STAFF COMPLETES CPI TRAINING ๐
Last week, Cicero District 99 proudly completed another round of CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training โ a commitment we renew every year because we believe in empowering our educators with more than just knowledge; we equip them with tools for compassion, safety, and resilience.
Through a combination of initial training at the Early Childhood Center and refresher courses at Drexel Elementary School, our staff engaged in the Nonviolent Crisis Interventionยฎ program โ a nationally recognized system focused on prevention first. This training isn't about reacting to crisis. It's about recognizing the signs before they escalate, and responding with calm, empathy, and proven strategies.
CPI gives our team a powerful, easy-to-use model for de-escalating situations involving anxious, agitated, or aggressive behavior. And here's the heart of it: it's not just about handling crises โ it's about protecting the dignity of every student in our care.
We believe so deeply in the value of this training that we pay our staff to take it โ and we strongly encourage all team members to enroll each year. Because the skills gained here don't just make our schools safer โ they strengthen relationships, build trust, and create environments where every student feels seen, heard, and supported.
This is how we lead. This is how we grow. This is how we care โ together.
Let's celebrate the staff who completed this training โ and inspire others to join them in making a difference that lasts far beyond the classroom.
