Cicero School District 99

We Move Forward Together!

🌟 NEW STAFF ORIENTATION 2025: TOGETHER, WE'LL MAKE ONE EPIC TEAM 🌟

Posted Date: 8/01/25 (3:09 PM)

This week, Cicero District 99 rolled out the red carpet for the newest members of our team β€” and what a week it's been! Over five days of connection, learning, laughter, and inspiration, our newest educators were immersed in all things D99. They received their tools, met their leaders, learned our story, and began their journey in one of the most dynamic school districts in Illinois.

Throughout the week, our new staff engaged in everything from tech integration and standards-based grading to multilingual education, classroom management, curriculum deep-dives, and a memorable bus tour through the heart of our community. They heard directly from department leaders, union reps, and district administrators β€” and even enjoyed a union-hosted lunch from Freddy’s, Cicero’s beloved old-school Italian deli. The week wrapped with the launch of our mentoring program, because here, no one does it alone.

But this isn't just about logistics and PD β€” this is about belonging.

πŸŽ“ We are thrilled to share that eleven of our new educators are D99 graduates who have returned to give back to the community that helped raise them. These stories speak volumes about the spirit of our district β€” a place that not only nurtures learners but inspires future leaders.

🌍 And D99 is reaching far beyond our borders. This year, we proudly welcome new teachers from Spain, Puerto Rico, New York, and other places across the U.S. Their decision to join our district is a testament to the vision, support, and excellence that define Cicero 99.

This week isn't just a warm-up β€” it's a launchpad. In D99, orientation is how we make sure every educator knows they're not just stepping into a classroom, but into a movement. It's where vision meets practice. Where culture takes root. Where relationships begin.Β

We believe that great teaching starts with great support β€” and that's what our orientation is all about.

πŸ’™ To our new team members: You are seen. You are valued. You are already making us better. If you see one of these new faces, extend a hand, a hello, or a word of encouragement β€” it matters more than you know. Let's continue to be a district that doesn't just teach students Β β€”we build a community.
