This past Saturday, families from across Cicero gathered at Unity Junior High School for the District's annual Dia de los Muertos celebration — a morning filled with laughter, traditional folkloric dance, snacks and time to reflect on the lives of those who are no longer here with us.

District students created calaveras and calacas (skulls and skeletons), paying homage to their special deceased loved one, and attendees had the opportunity to peruse through the Unity Commons admiring the students' colorful and heartfelt creations.
