Cicero District 99 is dedicated to the safety, wellbeing, and success of every student. District policies + state and federal laws ensure all children have access to free, high quality public education — regardless of immigration status, identity, or background.

District 99 does not ask for immigration info when enrolling a student, and immigration status will never impact the education or support a child receives. Student records are kept confidential and are only shared with parent/guardian consent or a lawful court order. Immigration or law enforcement personnel must present a valid judicial warrant before entering District property.

We remain committed to a supportive, professional, and safe learning environment for all. Families needing assistance are encouraged to reach out to our counselors, social workers, and psychologists for support. A few weeks back, national nonprofit organization Operation Warm came to Drexel Elementary School, donating new winter coats to all students. 

And last Thursday, Operation Warm returned to town to bring even more joy to students one week before Thanksgiving, coming to Cicero East Elementary School — and this time, in partnership with Cicero's Bimbo Bakeries USA!

For over 25 years, national nonprofit Operation Warm has manufactured brand-new coats for children in communities across the U.S., helping provide them with not just physical warmth, but emotional warmth and a sense of confidence. 

Providing children with brand-new coat during tough financial times is a challenge many families face, and through Operation Warm's local partnership with Bimbo, seeing children in Cicero with new coats ready for the chilly months ahead became a reality today, thanks to the hard work and generosity of the two groups! 

In addition to a new coat, all students also received a brand-new winter hat, courtesy of the Chicago Wolves!

This Thanksgiving week, Cicero District 99 is grateful to the generosity of Operation Warm and  its community partners for its dedication towards providing kids in Cicero with warmth and peace of mind this holiday season!
