❤️ YOU CAN'T TEACH THIS! A WEEK THAT REMINDED US WHO WE ARE — A FAMILY! 💚
This week, we reminded ourselves what community really looks like!
In a world that moves fast, Cicero District 99 chose to slow down — to serve, to celebrate, and to connect.
On Wednesday morning, our Unity students put on more than elf costumes — they put on kindness. They welcomed our senior citizens with warm smiles and a holiday breakfast served straight from the heart. And it didn't stop at service. Our students pulled up chairs, shared meals, shared laughter, and shared moments that will be remembered long after the plates were cleared. With Rosie & the Rivets filling the room with classic holiday favorites, the room didn't just feel festive — it felt like family.
Then came Thursday — a day dedicated to the heroes who protect our community every single day. Our Parent Patrol. The familiar faces who brave early mornings, changing weather, and busy streets to keep our students safe. District 99 administrators proudly honored them with a beautiful luncheon filled with gratitude and joy. Our parents arrived dressed in matching outfits, bringing cakes and desserts so elegant they could have come straight from a bakery — but carried the unmistakable love of home. When Morton High School's mariachi band took the stage, the celebration came alive. Music filled the room, feet found the dance floor, and appreciation turned into pure joy.
This wasn't just a week of events. It was a week of heart. A week of service. A week of unity.
Cicero District 99 doesn't just educate students — we uplift generations, honor our families, and celebrate the people who make our community strong. If you felt the love this week, you weren't alone. It was everywhere. And it's why we do what we do!
