As we head into Winter Break, one thing was clear at Wilson Elementary School — our students deserved to be celebrated in a BIG way.

What happens when hard work, commitment, and school pride collide? You get one of the most high-energy assemblies of the year.

As a special attendance incentive, students with near-perfect attendance and minimal tardies earned an experience they won't forget. And wow — did they earn it!

Staff showed up ALL IN, dressed head-to-toe in inflatable costumes, each one representing a grade level or school department. They raced, competed, and went all out while students cheered at the top of their lungs for their grade. The fun didn’t stop there — students jumped into the action too, taking part in basketball and soccer competitions that brought the entire gym to life.

The energy? Electric. The smiles? Non-stop. The pride? Unmatched.

This unforgettable moment was made possible by the dedicated team at Wilson, who go above and beyond every day to make school a place where students feel excited, supported, and motivated to show up.

Yes — that Grinch tried to ruin the fun. And yes — he was quickly placed in timeout. More than once. (See photo below 😂)

Across Wilson and throughout Cicero District 99, the message is loud and clear:

📢 Attendance Matters. Being on time matters. Showing up every day matters. Before break. After break. And every day in between. 9 days or less is the key to success.
