🎶 FOUR GOODWIN STUDENTS SHINE ON THE STATE STAGE! 🌟
We couldn't be more proud to celebrate an incredible achievement by four outstanding students from Goodwin Elementary School! These talented young musicians were selected to perform in the All-State Elementary Chorus at the prestigious Illinois Music Education Conference (IMEC) in Peoria, Illinois — a statewide event that brings together the best student musicians and educators for performances, learning, and celebration.
Congratulations to:
✨4th graders Adan Cruz Martin and Khalessi Perez
✨5th grader Galilea Cruz Martin
✨ 6th grader Kayden Rodriguez
These young singers worked tirelessly to earn their spots — meeting rigorous audition and performance standards to represent Cicero District 99 among the top elementary vocalists across Illinois. Their voices were part of a chorus of students sharing music, joy, and artistic excellence at one of the state's most respected music education gatherings.
None of this would be possible without the dedication, passion, and guidance of Esmeralda Bonk, Goodwin's music teacher. Her commitment to nurturing young talent and creating unforgettable opportunities for our students is truly inspiring.
This achievement is more than a performance — it's proof of what can happen when our children are given real opportunities to grow, learn, and shine. District 99 is committed to supporting excellence in the arts, and these students have shown exactly why that supports matters.
Please join us in congratulating Adan, Khalessi, Galilea, and Kayden — and in celebrating the incredible work happening right here in our schools!
