The 5Essentials Survey is a research-based tool developed by the University of Chicago and used statewide to measure the conditions that lead to strong, effective schools.

It’s one of the most important ways to share your honest feedback about the educational environment your child experiences. We promise — it’s completely confidential. Responses are anonymous and cannot be linked to you or your child.

Research shows that schools strong in the five essential conditions (Effective Leaders, Collaborative Teachers, Involved Families, Supportive Environment, and Ambitious Instruction) are significantly more likely to improve attendance, test scores, and other key student outcomes.
