A perfect time to shine a light on some of the most important people in our schools: our Media Specialists. 

At Cicero District 99, our Media Specialists do so much more than check out books. 

They are literacy leaders. They help students discover the joy of reading and connect them with books that spark imagination, curiosity, and confidence. 

They are technology guides. They teach students how to research, think critically, and navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. 

They are instructional partners. They work alongside teachers to support classroom learning, strengthen lessons, and create engaging opportunities for every student. 

They are safe spaces. For many children, the library is a place of belonging, comfort, creativity, and possibility. 

Libraries are the heart of a school community. 

They open doors to knowledge. They create access and equity. They inspire lifelong learning. They remind every child that their story matters. 

A strong library helps build strong readers. Strong readers help build strong students. Strong students help build strong communities. 

When we invest in libraries, we invest in futures.
