Unity Junior High School is special — and nearly one thousand future Tigers just experienced it firsthand.

At the end of April, Unity opened its doors for their annual 6th Grade Orientation, welcoming every 6th grade student in the district for an unforgettable look into what life as a Tiger is all about. From the moment students walked through the halls, there was electricity in the air. Excitement. Pride. Possibility.

Students met the administrative team that will guide and support them through one of the most important transitions of their lives. They experienced incredible performances from Unity's talented dance team, choir, and band — showcasing the spirit, creativity, and energy that fills this school every single day.

But the experience didn't stop there.

Future Tigers toured the entire 7th grade wing, stepping inside classrooms where futures are shaped, exploring the media center, cafeteria, massive gymnasium, outdoor turf field, and one of the most unique incentive spaces around — Unity's arcade room filled with retro games, video game consoles, and interactive rewards that celebrate student success and positive behavior.

And this year, Unity took things to another level.

For the first time ever, Unity hosted a special Family Night, inviting parents and guardians back in the evening to experience the school alongside their children. Families walked the same halls, met staff members face-to-face, and discovered firsthand why Unity is considered one of the largest and most dynamic middle schools in the country.

Inside the gym, families connected with coaches, club sponsors, and activity leaders at booths highlighting the endless opportunities available to students — from athletics and fine arts to before-school and after-school programs designed to help every child find where they belong.

Every family who attended also received a free Unity 6th Grade Night t-shirt — but what they truly left with was something much bigger: Confidence. Excitement. A vision for their child's future.

Because Unity Junior High is more than just a school. It's a place where students discover passions they never knew they had. It's where lifelong friendships begin. Where students stay active, involved, motivated, and supported every step of the way.
