🌎 EARTH DOME BRINGS INTERACTIVE AROUND-THE-WORLD EXPERIENCE TO LIBERTY ELEMENTARY 🌎
Last week, Liberty Elementary students took a trip around the world — without ever leaving school.
Thanks to the incredible Earth Dome from Mobile Ed Productions, our students stepped inside a giant inflatable Earth and experienced our planet in a way no textbook, map, or screen could ever fully capture. They explored continents, oceans, time zones, latitude, longitude, major cities, and the amazing scale of our world from the inside out.
And the facts? Mind-blowing.
Students learned how the Andes Mountains help create two completely different worlds side by side — on one side, the Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on Earth, and just beyond the mountains, some of the wettest, greenest landscapes connected to the Amazon regions. One mountain range. Two totally different environments. Incredible!
The also learned that the Hawaiian Islands are still changing. Deep under the ocean, a young volcanic seamount is growing, and scientists believe that thousands of years from now, it could eventually rise above the water and become another Hawaiian island. Our planet is still building itself!
Those moments are exactly why experiences like this matter.
For many students, this was more than an assembly. It was a moment of wonder. A chance to stand inside the Earth, look around, ask questions, and realize just how big, beautiful, powerful, and connected our world really is.
We saw wide eyes. We heard "Whoa!" We watched curiosity come alive.
At Cicero District 99, we want our students to do more than memorize facts — we want them to feel the excitement of discovery. The Earth Dome gave them that. It reminded us that learning can be unforgettable when students get to see it, touch it, walk through it, and experience it together.
What a powerful reminder that our world is full of stories, surprises, and places waiting to be explored.
Thank you Earth Dome, for helping our students see the world in a whole new way!
