💻 THE TEAM BEHIND THE TECHNOLOGY: HAPPY IT PROFESSIONALS DAY! 👏
When a teacher turns on a Promethean panel and begins a lesson, a student opens a device and connects to the network, or a staff member signs into a system and gets right to work, it can all seem pretty simple.
But making it feel simple takes an incredible amount of work.
Today, on IT Professionals Day, Cicero District 99 proudly recognizes the team working behind the scenes to keep our schools connected, secure, supported, and moving forward.
Our technicians are the people troubleshooting devices, responding to support requests, solving classroom technology problems, preparing equipment, managing accounts, and getting people back up and running when something doesn't work as expected.
Our cybersecurity expert is constantly working to protect the district's networks, systems, devices, accounts, and data. In a school district where technology touches nearly every part of teaching, learning, communication, and operations, that responsibility has never been more important.
Our infrastructure and systems professionals manage the technology most people rarely see — the networks, wireless access, servers, systems, integrations, permissions, updates, backups, and countless connections that have to work together reliably across an entire school district.
And that's what a true Operational Tech team looks like: deploying and maintaining technology, planning upgrades, supporting district initiatives, solving unexpected problems, and making sure our technology environment is ready not only for today, but for what comes next.
They support student and staff devices. They keep classrooms connected. They maintain Wi-Fi and networks. They protect sensitive information. They support phones, security technology, testing systems, interactive displays, accounts, applications, servers, and the many other tools our schools depend on every day.
And much of their best work happens without anyone noticing.
Behind that experience is a team monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, securing, updating, planning, responding, and solving problems — often before most of us ever know there was a problem to solve.
Technology is no longer something that simply supports a modern school district from the sidelines. It is woven into nearly everything we do. That means having talented, knowledgeable, dependable IT professionals isn't just convenient.
It's essential.
So today, we want to put the people who normally work behind the technology in front of the camera.
To the technicians, cybersecurity, infrastructure, systems, and operations professionals of Cicero District 99: THANK YOU!
Thank you for the problems you solve, the systems you protect, the classrooms you support, the infrastructure you maintain, and the countless things you do behind the scenes to keep our district running.
Some of your most important work may be invisible to the people who benefit from it. But its impact is everywhere.
Happy IT Professionals Day to the incredible technology team of Cicero District 99!
