🧡 ONE DISTRICT. THOUSANDS OF VOICES. ONE POWERFUL MESSAGE: EVERYONE BELONGS! 🧡

Cicero District 99 is turning orange today!

Today, students and staff across ALL of our schools are coming together to celebrate UNITY DAY, a nationwide movement championed by Pacer's National Bullying Prevention Center to raise awareness about bullying and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion!

But why orange? And why is today so important?

Unity Day is a reminder that no child should ever feel alone, excluded, or afraid to be themselves. Orange is the official color of Unity Day, symbolizing our shared commitment to standing together against bullying and creating communities where EVERYONE belongs.

And today, our District 99 schools are bringing that message to life in some AMAZING ways!

🙌 Students and staff are filling our schools with a SEA OF ORANGE, showing that kindness and inclusion are values we all share!

Entire school communities are gathering on their playgrounds to create incredible aerial photographs, spelling out messages and demonstrating what happens when hundreds of students unite for one powerful purpose!

Unity Day parades are bringing students and staff together to celebrate friendship, respect, and the simple but powerful truth that EVERY PERSON MATTERS!

Just think about that for a moment.

One student standing alone can make a difference. One classroom working together can inspire change. But when THOUSANDS of students and staff across an entire school district stand united, imagine the message we're sending!

And here's what makes today so meaningful:

Bullying prevention isn't just about teaching children what not to do. It's about empowering them to DO something positive.

Invite someone to join your group.
Stand up for someone who is being mistreated.
Celebrate what makes others unique.
Choose kindness, even when nobody is watching.
Make sure no one feels invisible of left out.

These may seem like small actions, but together, they can change the culture of an entire school community.

At Cicero District 99, we want every student to know: You Matter. You Are Valued. You Are Respected. You Belong!

And while today is a special celebration, the message of Unity Day doesn't end when the orange shirts come off. It's a commitment we can carry into our classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, homes, and communities EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Today we wear orange. Every day we choose kindness. Together we are District 99!
