STEERING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION: D99 STUDENTS PROMOTE UNITY DAY WITH SCHOOL BUS MOTIVATIONAL ART 🎨 🚌

It's no surprise that Unity Day is a big deal in Cicero District 99, but each year, the students and staff want to ensure that the entire community — from side streets to major roads — is reminded of the importance of standing together in solidarity for kindness and kicking bullying to the curb!

Each year for Unity Day, students from grades pre-K through 8 use their artistic talents and vocabulary creativity to write and draw motivational sayings and pictures to promote what Unity Day is all about — kindness, acceptance and inclusion are ALWAYS OK, and bullying is NEVER OK!

Congratulations to this year's bus decorating contest:
🥇First Place: Sherlock Elementary School (Bus #34)
🥈Second Place: Goodwin Elementary School (Bus #36)
🥉Third Place: Cicero East Elementary School (Bus #67)

This afternoon, District administrators stopped at Sherlock with the school's bus to celebrate the student artists on their big win!

Together, we're painting a brighter, kinder world — one bus, one message, one act of kindness at a time.
